Grayson Badgley

Hi, I'm Grayson, and I use open science and research to promote transparency and address politically tricky problems, like climate change.

Right now, I lead research at CarbonPlan to ensure the scientific integrity of the global carbon market. My work has exposed hundreds of millions of dollars in bad offset credits.

Previously, I studied forest ecology and plant physiology as an academic. I spent most of my time staring at leaves and processing terabytes of satellite imagery to improve how we measure photosynthesis at the global scale.

Before that, I was the first data scientist at Lyft and worked on some of our first dispatching algorithms.
